A recent report published by Numbeo shows the monthly gym prices in several major cities in Europe. According to these statistics, Tirana ranks 43rd among 144 cities in total, with an average price of $47.6 for a monthly subscription.
The data shows that Switzerland is the country with the highest fitness prices, as the top four spots in the ranking are occupied by cities from this country, with Zurich leading, where a monthly gym subscription costs $82.19.
But how much of the salary goes toward a monthly gym subscription? In the third quarter of 2024, the average net salary for an Albanian was 62,773 lek, while the average monthly price of a gym subscription is 4,350 lek. This means that 7% of an Albanian’s salary goes just for the monthly gym subscription, not including other expenses such as clothes or accessories needed for the gym.
As for Albania, it turns out to be the country with the highest gym prices in the region. Kosovo ranks 141st with a monthly subscription of $23.4.
Meanwhile, Serbia has three cities represented in the list and still offers lower prices than Albania. In Belgrade, the monthly gym fee is $36.79, ranking 103rd.
On the other hand, Montenegro ranks 60th, with a monthly subscription costing $42.85. Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, is in 114th place, where a month at the gym costs $33.6.
What stands out from these statistics is that the gym price in Albania is much higher than in several large and developed cities like: Paris ($36.8), Madrid ($44.8), Manchester ($41.6), Brussels ($37.7), and Hamburg ($47.2). / Tv Scan
